Paul Helman, Principal, GVHS

Golden Valley is committed to a legacy of high expectations where all students are given the opportunity to participate and succeed.  The heart of #BulldogSTRONG is rooted in the ideal of demonstrating GROWTH, PRIDE, and SERVICE (GPS) in all aspects of school and life.  This map to success serves as a guide for maximizing student potential in the classroom, campus, and community.  Academically, the school continues to focus on literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving, and college/career readiness skills.

In addition to a rigorous academic program, Golden Valley has activities and athletic teams for every student.  Part of a well-rounded high school experience includes involvement in activities outside of the classroom.  Our athletic programs, academic competition teams, computer gaming teams, visual and performing arts, student government, FFA, and other student clubs and programs offer opportunities for students with a wide variety of interests.  Early in the school year, Golden Valley will hold a club and activity day for students to sign up for any of these opportunities.

Parents are encouraged to participate in one of our many parent organizations.  We invite you to be a part of Parent Project, English Language Learner Advisory, Migrant Parent Advisory, or School Site Council.  The support groups and advisories provide support for teachers and students.  The GVHS Parent Center is open daily for assistance in a variety of areas- including access to the student information system and the Canvas Learning system.  Please contact Maria Lam in the GVHS Parent Center for any parent needs.

We look forward to having students back in the regular classroom and enjoying the activities on the Golden Valley campus.  We need to work diligently while on campus and in the community to remain safe and healthy.  I am hopeful we will have a great year.  I wish you the best of luck to a great start of the 2021-2022 school year.  We walk #BulldogSTRONG!
