(Bakersfield, CA) The Golden Valley Mock Trial team finished their season with the best finish in school history. For their part, the Bulldogs record was 3-1 and finished in 5th place out of 16 teams that competed across schools and court houses in Kern County. In a competition against West High School, a few students were recognized for their efforts and abilities in the courtroom as Maria Castillejo was selected as Most Valuable Attorney and Anela Keen was awarded Most Valuable Performer for her portrayal of the Detective in the case.
In a competition against Robert F. Kennedy High School in Delano, the Golden Valley Defense Team was victorious in their Mock Trial round to help catapult the Bulldogs to an early season victory.
Before this season, the highest the Bulldogs had ever placed was 10th, so this season demonstrated much GROWTH for the Golden Valley High School Mock Trial Team. "I am so proud of how this team came together," states Head Coach Trisha Brown, "The experience of being in real court rooms and competing in front of real judges can be a nervous time for our students, but they shined and were #BUlldogSTRONG."
